This policy explains how Roof Repairs South Africa (roofrepairssa.co.za) handles personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What We Collect
- Details you enter in the request form, such as your name, phone number, email address, suburb or city, the service you need, a short description, any photos you choose to add and your consent to share the enquiry.
- The page you sent the request from, so we know which service you were looking at.
- Messages you send us by phone or WhatsApp.
- Basic technical information, such as your IP address, recorded by the form service to help prevent spam.
Please do not send ID documents, banking details or passwords through the form or to us.
Why We Use It
- To pass your enquiry, with your permission, to independent roofing contractors suited to your request.
- To respond to your questions.
- To prevent spam and abuse, and to improve the service.
Who We Share It With
When you submit a request and agree to it being shared, we pass your enquiry to contractors suited to it, not to every contractor. Those businesses are separate and handle your information under their own responsibilities. The request form is provided by Elfsight, and we also use service providers that host the website and deliver messages. We do not sell your information.
Third-Party Services on This Website
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, the request form and a reviews widget from Elfsight, a notification widget from ProveSource and a Google follow button. These services may receive your IP address and browser details when the page loads, under their own privacy policies.
How Long We Keep It
We keep request information only as long as needed to handle your request and meet legal or record-keeping obligations, then delete it.
Your Rights
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to its use, by contacting us through the contact page. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Security
The website uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections and we take reasonable steps to protect your information. No system is completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy. The version on this page is the current one.
